Non-specific Ellipsis presents a series of non-objective abstract paintings that borrow the graphic qualities of the line or vector from digital culture. Rendered in watercolour on paper the works contrast the cool mathematical accuracy of the vector with the laboured imperfection of a hand-wrought curve. This new body of work has developed intuitively into a vocabulary of linear compositions, ranging from the diagrammatic to the quasi-ideographic, influenced by typography, emojis and entity-relationship diagrams.
